בשנת 1996, צריכת החשמל בישראל הייתה 28ת588 מיליוני קווט"ש. בשנת 2006, המספר כמעט נכפל, וצריכת החשמל עמדה על 46,175 מיליוני קווט"ש, ואספקת בנזין וסולר לתחבורה במדינה הגיעה ל-2.76 מיליון ליטר בנזין, ו-2.59 ליטר סולר.
